Helen Jenkins Director of Education
Helen is a true joy to know, and we are so lucky that she joined our team this last February. As our Director of Education, Helen ensures that staff and caregivers are all up to date on the latest information in terms of healthcare. Helen participates in orientation, client visits, and educational outreach at facilities in our area. Even with all that going on, Helen says her door is always open for anyone to come and discuss difficulties they may be experiencing performing specific tasks or if they want a refresher on a skill. With the new training center that just opened, Helen said “Bringing education to the staff and making sure that the Caregivers, both new and established, are able to perform their duties at the highest level of care is so exciting!” Anyone who meets Helen can see her genuine heart for education and providing learning opportunities to engage our caregivers. Helen is in the final years of her education, so her weekends are packed with homework. Yet, she still manages to be a D.I.Y. queen, finishing home projects with her dog Kobe beside her. As a major sports fan, it’s no surprise she named her 1.5-year-old German Shepard after her favorite basketball player, Kobe Bryant. Helen can also be found pouring into different communities at her church, such as Health & Wellness Ministry, the R.I.S.E. Ministry (Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault), and Liturgical Dance Ministry. Through these ministries, she had the opportunity to perform at the Kennedy Center.
